Will Donato's Music Medicine |

He’s got a hot single (“Funkability”) moving up the charts – but for Will Donato, the payoff came way earlier than the song's chart appearance. Just when he was starting to record his album, What It Takes, the saxophonist was diagnosed with cancer. Donato didn’t let the devastating news slow him down. In fact, making music proved to be the best medicine of all. He told SmoothViews.com, “The CD was …all I had to look forward to. I had to delve into this project and give it my all because nothing is for sure…What I had, all I had, was these moments with the music and the process of creating it…."Funkability”…was so important to me, it meant as much to me while I was going through the medical stuff and preparation to battle this thing.” Donato can now celebrate two good things – the buzz surrounding “Funkability” and his clean bill of health. “The main thing about this record … is that it really does tell a story. It kept me inspired, it kept me hopeful, and I hope it does that for others too...”
