Sting Weighs In On Arab Unrest |
| Feb 23 2011 |

Pro-democracy demonstrations across the Middle East have grabbed everyone's attention -- including Sting's. Speaking to reporters in Peru where he's scheduled to perform tonight [Feb. 23], the activist-singer said he hopes the growing unrest in Libya dies down soon and that defiant leader Moammar Gadhafi will give up power peacefully. "Things like this should be handled just like in Egypt and Tunisia." Those two countries recently forced out autocratic leaders after massive protests. He also noted that the West "should start treating the Arab culture in a better way."
