Soul Legend Solomon Burke Dies

Soul singer Solomon Burke, who’s hit “Cry to Me” was used in the movie, “Dirty Dancing,” died early Sunday at Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport. He was 70. The singer died from natural causes, shortly after arriving on a flight from Los Angeles. He had been scheduled to perform at an Amsterdam club this week.   Burke was a Grammy winner and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; he wrote the song “Everbody Needs Somebody to Love,” which was recorded by Wilson Pickett, the Rolling Stones and the Blues Brothers. He leaves behind 21 children, 90 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
