While he may hit on a few of them while channel-surfing. Seal is not a big fan of the reality TV music shows. During an interview with BBC Breakfast, he said, "I think they are good entertainment for the most part. I'm not sure if you have true superstars that emerge from that kind of format...” He added, “I don't think you can have a 'superstar by committee'; there has to be a healthy amount of mystique, if you like. Or distance - which sounds ironic saying that in this age of social media." Those opinions haven’t stopped executives from reaching out to the Grammy-winning performer. "I've been involved in a couple of [shows] where they ask me to go on as a mentor - I can't think why. It's ridiculous. Like I hold the secret key to it all - I don't." Seal is currently promoting his new album, Commitment.
