Sade Goes Her Own Way |

Sade has always gone her own way, making music at her own pace and largely living out of the spotlight. That strong commitment to following her instincts applies to her diet as well. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the 51-year old singer admits she recently went back to eating meat after almost a decade as a strict vegetarian. "I hate to say this but when I saw these lambs gamboling through the field [on her farm] and I started to salivate and I thought I should get to the tandoori shop quick before I pull a leg off one of the lambs. It's weird. I just thought the natural thing to do right now was to eat meat. I went through the whole veggie period thinking that was a good thing, and maybe it was for that time."
Choosing to tour well over a year after the release of her Soldier of Love album is another counter-intuitive decision that works for her. When it was suggested that this past summer might have been the more opportune time, she says, "that would have been the more sensible thing to do, promotion-wise. But I just wasn't ready to do that.... Sometimes I think you have to go with what you think is right as opposed to being a promotional tool for the album." Sade’s world tour will kick off in June 2011.
