Phil Collins Tops the Charts |

Phil Collins has “gone back” to the number 1 spot. His album, Going Back [out today, Sept. 28, in the US] has reached the top of the UK record charts. This is his sixth number one album, but the honor has been 12 years in the making; his compilation, Hits, achieved that rank back in 1998.
Going Back is a collection of Collins’ favorite Motown tracks. When asked by The New York Times if he worries that his versions will be compared with the originals, Collins answered, ”No, I don’t think it matters. I mean, people have been doing other people’s songs for as long as there’s been records made.”
