Michael McDonald Celebrates A Birthday |

Happy birthday to Michael McDonald who celebrates a birthday this weekend [Feb. 12]. Born in St. Louis, MO, he got his start playing with various local bands before moving to Los Angeles. He quickly found work as a backing musician [even doing sessions with David Cassidy] and singer. It was his stint as a background vocalist for Steely Dan that brought him to prominence; he soon went on to join the Doobie Brothers before leaving the band for a successful solo career. His Motowncompilations have gone platinum and his recent Dukes of September tour with Donald Fagen and Boz Scaggs was regularly sold out. McDonald is currently working on an album of new music for release later in 2011.
