Lionel Richie is known to sing ... and that’s why daughter Nicole is keeping him in the dark about her upcoming wedding: Richie admits he can’t keep a secret. The socialite/designer/reality TV star is engaged to rocker Joel Madden, the father of their two children; rumors have been flying that they’ll exchange vows before the end of this year. But don’t ask Dad for the date; the veteran singer tells Britain’s The Sun, "They won't tell me because they know I will tell everyone. I can’t keep a secret.” Richie does know one thing for certain: he won’t be performing at the ceremony. "I said to Nicole, 'You won't make me do anything cheesy like sing?’” Currently single, the 61-year old superstar adds that his daughter vets all his prospective dates, insisting he not date anyone too young. "[She] said to me a long while ago, 'Dad I won't date anyone your age if you don't date anyone my age. Deal?'"
