In the wake of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, that country is on the minds of many jazz artists. Japanese fans are known to be exceptionally loyal to the format and its performers, so its no surprise that artists are concerned about what's happening there. Kenny G is one who recorded a short video, encouraging his fans to contribute to rescue/recovery efforts. He notes that he's performed in Japan over 50 times and has many friends there [all safe, fortunately]. He also announced that a plan is in the works for a charity concert "sooner than later."
