John Mayer Recovering from Throat Surgery |

John Mayer is recovering from throat surgery to remove a granuloma, an inflamed growth above his vocal cord, diagnosed earlier this year. He posted on his blog, "It's been a very long process in waiting to see if time was an alternative to surgery, but ... there was no change for the better." Mayer has postponed the release of his fifth album, Born and Raised, to 2012 due to the vocal issues and had to cancel several performances, including an appearance with Tony Bennett in Los Angeles. He expects to be on complete vocal rest for a month or more.
