John Legend Denies Plagiarism Claim |

John Legend is adamantly denying that he stole another songwriter's tune. Aspiring artist Anthony Stokes has filed a lawsuit against the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, claiming that he handed Legend a demo tape after a 2004 concert and later heard similarities to his song in Legend's 2006 track, "Maxine's Interlude." Legend tells E! News that he'll fight the charges in court. "This gentleman made an accusation that's not true and we know it's not true. I never heard of his song until he sued me. I would never steal anyone's song. I've never, ever done that before. Never even been accused of it before, and we will fight it in court and we will prevail. I'm not worried about it. I know the truth is on my side." Legend is currently out with Sade on her summer tour.
