Janet Jackson Signs Movie Production Deal |

Janet Jackson is taking her next steps in the movie business -- only this time, she's going behind the scenes. The singer/actress has just signed a deal with Lionsgate to develop and produce a movie. A statement from the company says,in part, "We are honored to provide a home for ideas, passion and immense talent." Jackson has worked with Lionsgate over the course of the three movies she's appeared in under the direction of Tyler Perry. "They don't just make films," she said in a press release, "they nurture artists who want to make great films." For now, she'll have to do some brainstorming on the road; her "Up Close and Personal" tour just got underway.
