Fans of Jackiem Joyner can thank Gerald Albright for bringing his music into their lives. The red-hot saxophone star admits that he began his musical life as a drummer, only picking up the sax when the school band he wanted to join needed more wind instruments.   But in an interview with The Smooth Jazz Ride.com’s “Smooth Conversations,” Joyner says he became determined to master the instrument after hearing Gerald Albright’s “My My My” on the radio. He was so blown away by Albright’s sound that he began practicing more.  Joyner has since gotten the chance to play with the man who first inspired him, both as a sideman and as a fellow solo performer. He's currently on the charts with his song “Dance With Me.”
