Birthday wishes today [March 30] to Norah Jones. The singer, daughter of famed sitar player Ravi Shankar, was born in New York City, but grew up in Texas. Her 2002 debut album, Come Away With Me, netted her eight Grammy awards, tying her with Michael Jackson and Carlos Santana for the most Grammys in a single year. In addition to her trademark mellow sound, Jones has been known to throw down on the country side with her band, The Little Willies. She will also go undercover in small New York clubs as part of an all-girl rock trio, donning a platinum wig and playing electric guitar. Her most recent compilation,Featuring... showcases various duets she's done with everyone from the Foo Fighters to Ray Charles.
