George Benson is currently wowing audiences on a series of international dates. On a recent swing through Malaysia, he stopped long enough to reflect on his status as a ten-time Grammy winner and living legend. In a press conference, he revealed the secret to his longevity: "Music keeps you young. Keep rehearsing to keep those vocal chords working well and keep yourself surrounded by new and young talent. They make you go to the max and make you think young thoughts.”

Benson plays ukelele, piano, violin, bass, harp and drums, mainly as a form of musical study. The guitar, however, remains his main focus for a simple reason: "The guitar is the instrument that has taken over my heart and has given me the most back so I try to stick with [it] and not try to be the master of everything."

He also revealed a story behind one of his big hits: "I met Whitney Houston when she was a teenager and she came up to me on the streets of New York and said 'Mr Benson you are my favorite artist and my favorite song is the Greatest Love Of All and I'm going to record that song one day,' and I didn't believe her! When I heard it for the first time I wondered if it was the same kid that I met down town and it was and she did a great job."
