Jeff Golub has made lots of friends over his career -- and they're coming together to help him out. The guitarist recently suffered near-complete vision loss and his medical bills are mounting. So a concert is in the works to help offset those costs. "Friends of Jeff Golub All Star Benefit Concert" is set for Sept. 15 at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach, CA. Scheduled to perform are Mindi Abair, Rick Braun, Henry Butler, Brian Culbertson, Richard Elliot, Michael Lington, Jeff Lorber, Eric Marienthal, David Pack, Philippe Saisse, John Waite, Kirk Whalum, Peter White, and more to come. In addition, joining the musical entertainment is comedian Alonzo Bodden. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Golub's medical fund; Golub himself plans to perform. His latest release is Three Kings.
