Eric Clapton Phones It In...Literally |
| Oct 20 2010 |

Eric Clapton didn’t let a little hospital stay slow down the recording of his new album, Clapton. While he was recovering from gallstone surgery, he couldn’t be in the studio for rehearsals or jam sessions…but managed to create tracks, using his cellphone. In an interview with Uncut magazine, the guitarist revealed how technology came to the rescue. "(My collaborators) said, 'We need to know what Eric's going to do'. So I had to make an MP3 with my phone of me playing guitar and they played that back over the speakers in the studio and played to it. Extraordinary stuff."
