Exactly twenty years to the week after releasing his first album, Dave Koz releases project number twelve today [Oct. 12] with Hello Tomorrow. For the Grammy-nominated saxophonist, the album (his first for his new label, Concord) is more than a collection of songs: it’s a tool to help cope with all the changes going on in the world right now. In an interview with The Huffington Post, Koz explained, "... it's a reflection on these times of great, unprecedented change. I know I went through it in my own life, and this album really helped me embrace the change that was going on….I came out on the other side having gotten comfortable with the discomfort of change.., a lot of people are dealing with this discomfort in a lot of ways. I found the best way to deal with it was to embrace it and find inspiration in it, and through the working of this album, that's exactly what happened.”

The album, produced by Marcus Miller, features guest appearances by artists including Lee Ritenour (featured on the first single, "Put the Top Down"), Brian Culbertson, Jonathan Butler, Sheila E, Boney James and Herb Alpert.  One track, "Start All Over Again," was just featured on an episode of Desperate Housewives (with Koz performing).

Koz adds that he hopes the music will be in the background as we move forward during these turbulent times. "It's about trying to find some inspiration through the chaos …Hopefully, this album, at least it was for me, is an experience of great awakening, healing, and transformation….Not to be all spiritual or anything, but that's really what music is.”

Koz is currently mapping out his upcoming holiday tour. For dates, head to davekoz.com.
