Chaka Khan To Be Honored |
| Sep 17 2010 |

Chaka Khan steps into the spotlight for a different reason next week: she’s the honoree at the 32nd annual United Negro College Fund’s Evening of Stars, set for Sept. 25 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The 10-time Grammy winner will receive the Award of Excellence for her long-standing support of the UNCF’s mission. She’ll also perform, and be honored by fellow artists including Stevie Wonder [who wrote her breakthrough hit, “Tell Me Something Good”], Anita Baker, Fantasia, Quincy Jones and El DeBarge. In addition to her work with the UNCF, Khan’s own foundation mentors college-bound kids. You can catch the festivities when the two-hour special airs in January 2011.
