The honors just keep comin' for Chaka Khan:  weeks after getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the singer will be honored tonight [June 16] at the annual Songwriters Hall of Fame awards in New York, where she'll receive the Hitmaker Award. But she's not resting on her laurels.  Talking to Billboard.com, Khan says she has several projects in the pipeline, including a jazz-infused tribute to Joni Mitchell and an album of duets.  For the latter, Khan plans to cover some of her favorite rock hits alongside surprising collaborators.  Case in point: she'll be working with Aerosmith's/American Idol's Steven Tyler on a yet-to-be-picked Led Zeppelin song.  "We literally just clicked.  We were at Elton John's party and we got to talk and both wanted to sing together.  [We chose] a band that we both love, and we both love Zeppelin."  She added, "I pretty much just live in the moment, and I always have...its an all-around good thing that I turned out to be a singer."
