Carlos Santana Blasts Immigration Laws |
| May 16 2011 |

He was there to be honored with the Beacon of Change Award at this weekend's annual Civil Rights [baseball] Game -- but Carlos Santana took the occasion to loudly blast stricter immigration laws on the books in Georgia and Arizona. "The people of Arizona, and the people of Atlanta, Georgia, you should be ashamed of yourselves." At a press conference after the game, Santana added, "[These laws] are about fear. Stop shucking and jiving. People are afraid we're going to steal your jobs. No we aren't. You're not going to change sheets and clean toilets. This is the United States. This is the land of the free. If people want the immigration laws to keep passing, then everybody should get out and leave the American Indians here."
