Three months after the auto accident that sidelined him for weeks, Boney James is sharing details of what happened. In an interview with the Richmond Times Dispatch, he recalls the night a drunk driver rear-ended him on the way home after a show. He was on speakerphone with his wife when it happened. "OnStar came on and knocked my wife off, so she didn't know what was happening. Then the guy's car caught on fire, so someone was banging on my door, telling me to get out because [the other] car was going to blow. I couldn't open my door, so I went out the passenger side. It was pretty scary . . . but I feel super grateful that it wasn't worse."
James says his recovery continues along with his current summer tour dates. "I feel pretty normal now. Just a little achy when I play…But on the whole, things are pretty good. The teeth aren't exactly where they were, but I'm adjusting. I'm just so glad to be back up there on stage.”
