Beyonce Gives Back Concert Money |

Beyonce has revealed that she donated the money received from performing at a bash thrown by the son of Libyan dictator Mohammar Gaddafi. She, along with Usher, were hired to sing at a 2009 New Year's bash in St. Bart's, thrown by Mutassim Gaddafi. The fee was reportedly in the area of $1 million; however, her spokesperson says that the singer gave the money to Haitian relief efforts "over a year ago." "Once it became known that the third party promoter was linked to the Gaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to good use." Similar pressure has been increasing on several artists who've performed for family members of the dictator in recent years, including Mariah Carey, who was paid $1 million in 2008 to sing four songs at a New Year's party. Carey has so far issued no comment.
