American Smooth Jazz Awards Handed Out Tonight |

There are lots of nervous tummies with the American Smooth Jazz Awards scheduled to be handed out tonight [Oct. 29]. The first annual ceremony takes place at Chicago’s DuSable Museum, with an all-star lineup performing – and hoping to take home a prize. Among those appearing are Richard Elliot [nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year, among others]; Peter White [up for Guitarist and Album of the Year] and Nick Colionne [Guitarist and Entertainer of the Year]. Brian Simpson, Darren Rahn, Marc Antoine and the Sax Pack are also on the roster to perform.
David Benoit will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award; the legacy of the late Wayman Tisdale will also be honored when his widow, Regina, presents the Wayman Tisdale Humanitarian Award.
