Alicia Keys: No "Tweeting" Til She Gets A Million Bucks |
| Nov 29 2010 |

Alicia Keys has a unique way of getting people’s attention: to mark World AIDS Day on Wednesday [Dec. 1], she’s convinced a bunch of her famous friends to abstain from social media until $1 million dollars is raised. The campaign is called Digital Life Sacrifice; so far Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Kim Kardashian and Usher are among the big names who won’t Facebook or “tweet” until enough donations come in to get them back online. The money will go to Keys’ Keep A Child Alive Foundation, which helps kids and families affected by AIDS. Keys told the AP, “It’s so important to shock you to the point of waking up. It’s not that people don’t care or it’s not that people don’t want to do something, it’s that they never thought of it quite like that. This is such a direct and instantly emotional way and a little sarcastic of a way to get people to pay attention.”
