With a huge album on the charts, you wouldn't think Adele would need anyone to tell her how to sing...but she does. The 23-year old singer is reportedly working with a US vocal coach to help her deal with a persistent case of laryngitis that forced her to cancel the rest of her American tour dates. Coach Ron Anderson has worked with Alicia Keys and Joss Stone among others, and teaches a method that keeps damage to the voice to a minimum. He told the UK's The Sun, "There are commonly two approaches singers take, [either] 'singing through your chest' or 'singing through your head.' Singing through your chest increases the chance of calluses and nodules...on the vocal chords...Adele sings more through her chest at the moment." It may not help that she's not given up smoking: she recently described efforts to quit as "boring."
